In a collaborative effort between SpongeBoost, SpongeScapes, SpongeWorks, FutureLakes, and MERLIN, a policy brief titled “Advancing the Water Resilience Strategy through Sponge Landscapes and Nature-Based Solutions for a Climate Resilient Europe” was published.

The policy brief outlines an approach towards operationalising sponge landscapes and nature-based solutions to support biodiversity, sustainable land use, and long-term water resilience in the prevention of a climate crisis. Based on previous practical experience from other EU-funded projects, the brief proposes different strategies on how to integrate sponge landscapes into the European Water Resilience Strategy (EWRS).
